Annoying COVID-19 Caller Tune To End

As per sources close to the development, “No more caller tune on COVID-19. It is going to stop soon. Official sources will be dropping COVID-19 pre-call announcements from phones after almost two years of raising awareness about disease.”

The caller tune has been played by all telecom operators as per the directions given by the government. It is played before users’ phones connect to one another.

In January, the caller tune changed to push the vaccination drive by the government. It then said, “The new year has brought a new ray of hope in the form of vaccines. Vaccines developed in India are safe, effective and will provide immunity.”

The number of COVID-19 infected cases in India has been dwindling over the past few months. This has happened after the third wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Restrictions Loosened As COVID-19 Cases Reduce

As daily Covid cases decline, the Maharashtra government said that it will lift nearly all restrictions in the state. Restaurants, shopping complexes, cinema halls and theatres will be allowed to function at full capacity in 14 districts, including Mumbai.Swimming pools, religious places, entertainment parks can also function at 100% capacity in the 14 districts.

Public and private offices can operate at full capacity. Offline classes can resume at all academic institutions including preschools and anganwadis.

However, full vaccination is still required in order to enter public spaces including public transport, malls, theatres, restaurants, religious places and tourist places.

Observing that the third wave of COVID-19 has ended in India, esteemed virologist Dr. T Jacob John said he is “fairly confident” that there won’t be a fourth wave in the country unless an unexpected variant that behaves in a different way comes up.
